Commercial/Industrial Electrician

Performance Objectives

• Install EMT, rigid, IMC, and flex conduit, including accurate bends, so layouts match prints and pass inspection the first time.
• Pull, terminate, and label branch and feeder conductors; mount panels, disconnects, transformers, switchgear, lighting, and devices to NEC and project specs.
• Read blueprints, one-lines, and schematics; lay out runs and coordinate with other trades so the electrical package stays on schedule.
• Connect, commission, and relocate industrial equipment—motors, VFDs, MCCs, PLCs, sensors, and control wiring—with verified voltage, rotation, and signal integrity.
• Troubleshoot power and controls with meters and testers; restore equipment quickly to cut production downtime.
• Verify every installation against NEC, OSHA, and LOTO; keep the work area clean and report ready for walk-throughs.
• Complete assigned scopes on first shift without rework, supporting long-term commercial and manufacturing projects in the region.

Environment & Resources

You work on client job sites (commercial construction and manufacturing plants such as packaging, food, plastics, and similar) with Summit as your employer. You report through our recruiting and field team, bring standard hand tools and required PPE, and follow site safety programs. Assignments are full-time, first shift, typically in and around Lancaster County and nearby PA markets. We handle placement, benefits, and long-term matching so you can focus on the work.

Essential Qualifications

• 5+ years commercial electrical construction or 6+ years industrial/manufacturing electrical experience (both preferred for this combined role).
• Proven EMT/rigid bending, conduit install, terminations, and industrial power/controls work including motors, VFDs, and field devices.
• Ability to read electrical prints and schematics; Journeyman or Master license preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to lift up to 75 lbs as needed.
• Own standard electrical hand tools and OSHA-compliant PPE; pass a pre-employment drug screen; authorized to work in the U.S.

Role Selling Points

• $25–$35/hour commercial or $30–$35/hour industrial, based on demonstrated skill—not just years. We reserve our top pay rates of $33–$35/hr for candidates who hold a current Journeyman Electrician license.
