Commercial/Industrial Electrician

Summit Service Solutions exists to put skilled tradespeople on the right work—and keep them there. For close to a decade we’ve staffed commercial construction and manufacturing sites across Pennsylvania and nearby markets. This role is how buildings get powered and lines stay running: you install, commission, and keep electrical systems right the first time so clients hit schedule and production doesn’t stop.

Performance Objectives

  • Install EMT, rigid, IMC, and flex; bend accurate runs; pull and terminate feeders and branch circuits so layouts match prints and pass inspection on the first walk.
  • Set panels, disconnects, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, motors, VFDs, and lighting so equipment is ready for energization without rework.
  • Read blueprints, one-lines, and schematics; lay out conduit and coordinate with other trades so your work never becomes the critical-path delay.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair power and control circuits (including sensors and PLC field devices) to restore equipment and minimize downtime.
  • Verify voltage, phase rotation, and load; confirm every install meets NEC, OSHA, and site LOTO/GMP rules.
  • Keep the work area clean, staged, and inspection-ready every day while wearing required PPE and using your own standard hand tools.

Environment & Resources

Full-time, first-shift, long-term commercial and industrial assignments (new construction, renovations, manufacturing). You report through Summit’s field leadership to the client superintendent. Pay is $25–$35/hour based on demonstrated skill. We reserve our top pay rates of $33–$35/hr for candidates who hold a current Journeyman Electrician license.

You bring hand tools and OSHA-compliant PPE (hard hat, ANSI glasses, hi-vis, long pants, safety-toe boots, gloves, hearing protection). Drug-free workplace; reliable transportation required.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5+ years commercial electrical construction or 6+ years industrial/manufacturing electrical work, including EMT bending and equipment hookup.
  • Proven ability to interpret prints, schematics, and one-lines and to install to NEC.
  • Comfort with conduit, terminations, panels, motors/VFDs, and basic controls troubleshooting.
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Willingness to pass a pre-employment drug screen; OSHA card and journeyman/master license preferred.

Role Selling Points

  • Steady first-shift work with a 20-year staffing partner—not a one-week fill-in.
  • 401(k) with match, PTO, holiday pay, health insurance, plus life, disability, and limited medical options.
  • $1,500 referral bonuses; recruiters who pick up the phone at 717-626-4410.
  • Career-minded placements: we recruit to retain, not to churn.
