Commercial/Industrial Electrician

Type: Full Time
Compensation: $25 - $35 / hour
Location: Reading, Pennsylvania

Commercial/Industrial Electrician

Summit Service Solutions exists to put skilled tradespeople on meaningful, long-term work—not to shuffle bodies. For close to a decade we have staffed commercial construction and manufacturing sites across Pennsylvania so clients finish on schedule and electricians build real careers. This role is how we keep plants running and buildings powered: you install, commission, and keep electrical systems right the first time.

Performance Objectives

  • Complete conduit, feeder, and equipment installs (EMT, rigid, IMC, panels, MCCs, motors, VFDs) so the area is ready for inspection and occupancy or production on the project schedule.
  • Lay out and pull circuits from blueprints, schematics, and one-lines with fewer than 5% rework items on punch lists.
  • Terminate, megger, and verify voltage/phase rotation so new machinery or lighting systems pass first-power tests.
  • Troubleshoot and restore production or building power within the same shift whenever possible, using LOTO and documented findings.
  • Coordinate daily with other trades and the GC or plant lead so your work never becomes the critical-path delay.
  • Leave every work area NEC- and OSHA-compliant, tools staged, and housekept so the next crew can start immediately.

Environment & Resources

You report to a Summit field supervisor and work first shift on long-term commercial or industrial assignments in the Lancaster / Reading / Carlisle region. You bring your own hand tools and required PPE; the job supplies benders, testers, and material. Pay is $25–$35/hr based on demonstrated commercial or industrial skill. We reserve our top pay rates of $33–$35/hr for candidates who hold a current Journeyman Electrician license.Drug-free workplace.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5+ years commercial electrical construction or 6+ years industrial/manufacturing electrical work, including EMT bending and feeder pulls.
  • Ability to read prints, schematics, and one-lines and to layout conduit without constant supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Physical capacity to lift 75 lbs and work at heights; you supply standard electrician tools plus hard hat, ANSI glasses, hi-vis, steel-toe boots, gloves, and hearing protection.
  • Willingness to pass a pre-employment drug screen and follow NEC, OSHA, and LOTO on every job.

Role Selling Points

  • Steady first-shift work on real projects—not day labor—with 401(k) match, PTO, holidays, and health plus supplemental coverage.
  • $1,500 referral bonus and a company that treats electricians as the product, not the cost.
  • Journeyman or Master license preferred but not required; we place people who can actually do the work.
